Many experimental data on (n, γ) cross section of the important fission product nuclides which affect the nuclear characteristics of fast reactor have been compiled and used in the evaluation works of the Working Group on Fission Product Nuclear Data of Japanese Nuclear Data Committee. However, there are many and remarkable discrepancies among the compiled data. The causes of the discrepancies might be very complex, but the differences among the standard cross sections used in the measurements are pointed out as a cause of them. Therefore, the standard cross sections are surveyed in the compiled (n, γ) data, and compared with the recent experimental and evaluated data for the standard nuclides. Furthermore, a possibility to reduce the discrepancies is examined by renormalization using the standard cross sections based on the recent reliable data.
