Abstract
Adley seeds contained 9.4% lipids and their saponification value was 180.2 and iodine value was 94.6. The ratio of neutral lipids, glycolipids (GL) and phospholipids (PL) were 99.1 : 0.2 : 0.7, respectively. Oleic acid (C18 : 1), linoleic acid (C18 : 2) and palmitic acid (C16 : 0) were the major fatty acids in the above lipids. Triacylglycerols (TG) was examined for the positional composition of fatty acids; position C-2 of TG was rich in unsaturated fatty acids. 91% of C16 : 0 in TG distributed in C-1, 3 positions. Triunsaturated and diunsaturated types were the major TG of adley seeds. Adley seeds contained 5 kinds of GL, 9 kinds of PL, where sterylglycolipids, glycero-glycolipids, were the major components of GL and phospatidyicholine was the major components of PL.
