To support literature research in inquiry-based problem-solving learning, creating an effective environment is crucial. This study addressed three research questions: (1) Do students actively use the library space? (2) What factors do students prioritize in establishing a library space? (3) What outcomes from inquiry-based learning most influence overall satisfaction, and does the library space contribute to these outcomes? A library space called “Tankyu no Mori” was set up in a cooperating junior high school, and a survey was conducted. Usage patterns were analyzed through graphs, students' preferences were examined using conjoint analysis, and factors affecting satisfaction were explored with ordinal regression. The results showed that students who used the space tended to visit multiple times, finding it helpful for expanding knowledge and improving research skills. Positive feedback was given regarding the location, with requests for permanent installation and more books. These findings suggest that “Tankyu no Mori” plays a key role in supporting autonomous learning and highlights the need for further environmental improvements to encourage greater use.
