Abstract
In this paper, we analyze the important factors for South Korean students who learn Japanese when they use Japanese honorifics and analyze the influence of their native language and their learning environment on their Japanese. We focus on the differences between normative honorific expressions and the expressions commonly used, which are not necessarily in agreement. Also, we distinguish concepts for "speaking 'correctly'" and "speaking 'normally.'" Furthermore, data of the language usage based on social norms are offered. According to our results, even though the JNS group thinks that it is right to talk in consideration of the vertical relation of age and status and UCHI-SOTO relation, the relative degree of intimacy relation is the most important to the JNS group. On the other hand, JFL and JSL groups who are influenced by Korean language think that the vertical relation of age and status are the most important.
