Polyphase high-pressure metamorphism of eclogites and associated pelitic schists in the Sebadani and Onodani areas, Sambagawa metamorphic belt, central Shikoku, Japan

The Sebadani-Onodani area in the Besshi district, Sambagawa metamorphic belt, southwest Japan is mainly composed of basic schists, with intercalation of pelitic schists. Eclogites are sporadically preserved in both lithologies and they experienced four distinct event of metamorphism. These are a precursor metamorphic event (amphibolite facies), a first high-pressure metamorphic event and a second high-pressure metamorphic event (eclogite facies) and a third high-pressure metamorphic event (epidote-amphibolite facies).
