Abstract
Current study deals with the evolution of microstructures in shallow crustal active fault within Himalayas, India. The outcrops portray an increase in fracture density, with consequent development of gouge, due to stress accumulations towards the core of thrust. The petrographic analysis, shows corresponding evolution of microstructures, suggesting pressure solution and cataclastic deformation as primary deformation mechanisms, with low deformation temperature.
