Eclogitic metabasite as a block within the serpentinite body in the Gotsu area, Suo metamorphic belt, SW Japan

抄録

One small block of eclogitic metabasite occurs within the serpentinite body, and it is a first discovery of eclogite evidence in the Gotsu area. Garnet, omphacite, glaucophane, and phengite are the constituents of the peak metamorphic stage, and these suggest eclogite facies metamorphic condition. The garnet-clinopyroxene exchange geothermometer and garnet-clinopyroxene-phengite geobarometer yielded 540-550 °C and 19 kbar for the peak metamorphic stage.
