Abstract

In telesurgery, video presentation of an operating field and an operating room is required to recognize a situation of a surgical operation in a remote operating room. For the operating field, accurate spatial recognition is important for accurate treatment and precise advice. Whole view of the operating room is also important for tele-communication between a tele-operating surgeon and surgical staffs in the remote operating room. The main subject of this paper is to propose elevation view of the operating field, that is, a multi-view presentation method in an image plane for presenting exact location of the operating field by applying a three-sides-view method and for presenting the whole situation in the remote operating room by using a wide-angle view. The effectiveness of the elevation view is evaluated by physical evaluation and sensory evaluation.
