The objective of the present study was to consider a new method of clinical practice of home care nursing from the perspective of a home-visit nursing agency. In the present study designed as qualitative descriptive study, a semi-structured interviews were conducted with five nurse managers working for home-visit nursing agencies in Japan. The managers felt that “practical goals of clinical practice of home care nursing were a similarity between education institutions, but the practical training method varied from institution to institution,” and “there are limits to the implementation of nursing process in a short span of time”. On the other hand, the managers wanted more emphasis on the fact that “home care nursing targets people living at home” and “the role of home care nurses” with the student. In addition, the managers felt that “students are able to gain an understanding of the true nature of nursing care”. Future issues are “the early implementation of clinical practice of home care nursing”, “a shift to clinical practice of home care nursing based on community-based integrated care”, and “a focus on human resources development of visiting nurses”.
