Abstract
This study examines the definitions and other relevant descriptions of the selected five fundamental terms in regard to scientific approaches in nursing for the purpose of clarifying the concept of the terms. 1) nursing theory, 2) conceptual framework for nursing, 3) nursing research, 4) nursing science, and 5) the discipline of nursing are the terms under the examination. It is revealed that there are various perspectives of the concepts and approaches to define each term. Some major conceptualization issues in defining these terms are identified.
