Abstract
Eight years have passed since the Japan Textile Evaluation Technology Council started the certification system of the deodorant-finished products mark by adapting both test methods of sensory analysis and instrumental analysis. Although the range of the certified products covers almost all textile uses, the deodorant category only covers smell of sweat and body odor alterations during aging. For certification, it is necessary to conduct expensive sensory analyses on a plurality of odor sources, requiring large burden of expenses. Therefore, efforts have been made in that the certification only with instrumental analysis has started for some odor sources for which correlation data of both analyses have been accumulated for improving reliability.
