Abstract
The aim of this symposium session was to consider the implications and the
scope of applicability of the Supreme Court judgment on May 17, 2021, ruling on
a construction asbestos lawsuit (Kanagawa first party). The session also discussed
the future issues of chemical substance management. First, legal scholars and
technical professionals who have worked with chemical management in the field
gave presentations. Then, a discussion took place on the adequacy of the reasoning
of the Supreme Court and its impact and the necessity of improving experts
qualitatively and quantitatively to support autonomous management of chemical
substances.
