Abstract
Based on the changes in the corporate environment and the shifting attitudes of workers, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare’s Labour Standards Bureau’s “Study Group on Work Styles in the New Era” has proposed directions for future labour standards legislation. This proposal aims to realize a society that both “protects” the mental and physical health of workers and “supports” their diverse aspirations and choices. The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare will proceed with concrete deliberations on the future direction of labour standards legislation, taking into consideration these proposals and the implementation status of work style reform-related laws.
