Abstract
This paper examines both the benefits and challenges of the “work interval system” and the “right to disconnect from work” as emerging countermeasures against overwork in terms of occupational fatigue research. These discussions suggest that the effectiveness of new overwork prevention measures in Japan would be limited without considering the characteristics of local workplaces.
