Abstract
Embedded discontinuous element based on the enhanced assumed strain method is utilized to model the interface of dissimilar phases in terms of meshless finite element analyses for composite materials. Discontinuities on the interface are enriched as incompatible modes in each element. The performance of the element is good in the case that the values of material stiffness are in the same order but it gradually decreases in the case of higher stiffness ratio.
