Abstract
Development of point source disturbance in the three-dimensional boundary layer of a yawed circular cylinder is studied using Direct Numerical Simulation (DNS). The purpose of this paper is to clarify the behavior of the instability in the three-dimensional boundary layer near the leading edge. As a result, it is shown that the T-S wave type instability appears when the frequency of the excited disturbance is high, while the cross-flow instability becomes dominant when the frequency is low.
