Resistance spot welding is widely used in manufacturing industry. Analysis of resistance spot welding is required for examination of welding mechanism and determination of welding parameters such as weld current, electrode force and weld time because welding parameters are obtained empirically. In this paper, effect of structure–electric current–thermal conduction triply coupled model on resistance spot welding analysis results are examined to make analysis more efficient. Statistically similar representative volume element size and resolution of finite element analysis model are also discussed for microscale electrical contact resistance analysis of multiscale resistance spot welding analysis.
