Process of Hikikomori during Adolescence to a Support Organization

Abstract

This study was intended to clarify a process to a support organization under the recent diversified way of communication to Hikikomori during adolescence. We have interviewed seven targeted persons and analyzed by the Revision Grounded Theory Approach. Also, we added the change of personal relationships with the diversification of the recent communication method including smartphone and SNS in the process of the analysis. As a result, based on the “Faced each other for stimulation to receive from the same age” as a core category, 12 categories and 30 concepts were extracted. The party concerned triggered to Hikikomori by the process of the “Faced each other for stimulation to receive from the same age” related to the factors that occurring from their stage of physical development during adolescence and sociocultural in Japan. Suggestions to nursing care to be appeared such as sharing the meaning of behavior of Hikikomori in the party concerned, reporting to their family with regards to supporting related information provision and setting up structure for communications to the party concerned at proper timing.
