The Overseas Training Program conducted by Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation (JOGMEC) has a quarter century of history since 1989 including the times of JNOC, the former organization of JOGMEC. The program comprises a variety of courses regarding oil/gas upstream technologies and more than 3,000 engineers from 47 countries participated in the program. The 25 years' “steady effort” has been for providing the participants with not only the up-to-date technologies but variety of opportunities to know more about Japan. JOGMEC staff in charge of the training program always direct special consideration to their comfortable stay in Japan, however, sometimes attended by various difficulties coming from cultural differences.
