Concept Development of Multi-purpose Workboat and its intervention and P&A Operations

Abstract

Japan Drilling Co., Ltd. is carrying out research and development of multipurpose work vessels in collaboration with Japan Marine United （JMU）. This is being conducted under the support of the Japan Foundation's “Nippon-Scotland Joint Ocean Development Joint Technology Development Program”. The purpose of this research is to carry out well operations such as workover and P&A （Plug and Abandonment） by using a multipurpose work vessel, but without using a drilling rig.
