抄録
Compact city is a concept which is produced by OR（operations research）workers. This article reviews the mathematical models of concept of compact city and reveals some conflicts and trade-off relations among them. The morphological models of compact city are also investigated with classification of some types. The models should be supposed to no longer show the ideal city image as those in the modernism ages were, but provide the concept as a tool to be discussed about for the realistic future policies.
