This paper attempts to consider a new relationship between real property and tourism as a new era industry, questioning an unreasonable relationship that developments of regional economies are under the domination of land value rises. Specifically, the role of tourism development as an industry to support regional revitalization is discussed from the viewpoints of DMO and PPP (public-private partnership) as well as problems are posed through advanced case studies from Taketomi-island, Kesennuma-city, the conservation system for groups of traditional buildings by law and the United Kingdom.
