This paper uses the DID method to estimate land price functions based on a hedonic approach for the economic
effects of the Fukuoka City Subway Nanakuma Line and the Nishi Kyushu Shinkansen Line, which were extended
and newly opened in the Kyushu region between 2022 and 2023, on the areas along these lines. The results of a simple
empirical analysis suggest that both the Fukuoka City Subway Nanakuma Line and the Nishi Kyushu Shinkansen
have a positive impact on land prices as a whole, but the effect is localized and varies from region to region.
