This paper focuses its research on how community-type websites are transforming into important learning resources, by taking advantage of technologies that provide a flexible and effective means of generating and managing restricted information for a broad user base. Adopting the case study of immigrant children support networks in Japan, the author highlights the benefits of contemporary Internet information management systems in exposing the limitations of the modern Japanese education system, as well as demonstrating the potential for building a flexible and appropriate learning environment in the future.
