Material Development for Blended Learning in English for Tourism

Abstract

In language education, blended learning is considered to be more effective than a mere implementation of CALL. In this paper, we attempt to conceptualize an effective combination of on-line and off-line learning. For this purpose, we developed CALL materials and text-based materials in English for Tourism. We then compared the students' retention rate after both CALL and blended learning to check the effectiveness of each.
