In this article, conception and roles of variable "M-SE/SE-C (Monitor →Self-Evaluation/Self-Evaluation → Control)" are examined, which is a component of the framework of this study.
Firstly, we identified four different kinds of processes of "Monitor → Self-Evaluation". They are (1) judging successful problem-solving situation to be successful, (2) judging successful problem-solving situation to be unsuccessful, (3) judging unsuccessful problem-solving situation to be successful, and (4) judging unsuccessful problem-solving situation to be unsuccessful at the point of self-evaluation. We call (1) and (4) "Good Judge", and call (2) and (3) "Bad Judge". And, these four processes are indicated by [S]G, [S]B, [U]B, and [U]G respectively.
Secondly, we supposed two processes of "Self-Evaluation → Control", i.e., "Successful Control" and "Unsuccessful Control". And, these two processes are indicated by SC and UC respectively. Finally, combining processes of "Monitor → Self-Evaluation" and "Self-Evaluation → Control", we identified eight different kinds of processes of "Monitor → Self-Evaluation → Control". This new elaborated variable is formulated as follows.

And we can represent those eight paths as follows; [S]GS, [S]GU, [S]BS, [S]BU, [U] GS, [U]GU, [U]BS, [U]BU. For example, one of the self-referential activities, "[U]GS", is like a following activity, that is, "judging unsuccessful problem-solving situation to be unsuccessful ([U]G), and then making successful control (SC)".
Based on an analysis of eight types of self-referential activities, the following implications are suggested.
1. We can distinguish essentially different self-referential activities by using our new characterization of this variables.
2. We must study on problem solving strategy, considering get occurring successful assessment and control. 3. It is important for successful problem solving to be able to judge unsuccessful situation to be unsuccessful.
