Abstract
Along with the spread of computers, various persons will use is and various application software is developed. It cannot be said that it is not necessarily easy to use the help function which is the duty which helps the user attached to application software, i.e., an on-line manual. A manual treats the on-line manual for experienced person in this research, although what is needed by the beginner and the experienced person differs. By experiment, the problem of an on-line manual was pointed out by comparing with a commercial guidebook, and the improvement proposal was proposed based on these. The problems which cannot see a part related and not understanding the term to search were pointed out. The improvement version on-line manual which set the reference window to two on Web from these was created. And as a result of conducting the experiment which compared an existing on-line manual and the existing improvement version, since the effect was acquired, it can be said that it is effective.
