Abstract
This paper analyzes innovative collaboration across companies for creating business method patents from data of joint patent application. First, overall trend of collaboration across all types of industries is analyzed. Companies of various industries submit joint patent application as well as IT companies. The analysis found that non-IT manufacturing companies also play a leading role in creating business method patents. Then, collaboration around financial companies is analyzed. Some financial companies make active use of joint patent application in order to create qualitative business method patents. Finally, the ideal relationship of companies for creating innovative business method is studied.
