Financial Conglomerates: Corporate Structure and Regulatory Framework

Abstract

Financial conglomerates, combining banking, securities trading and insurance, have become an important part of the financial landscape in many countries. The emergence of such corporate groups which provide a wide range of financial services has created an additional challenge for every financial regulator. Section 1 summarizes environmental changes in the financial conglomerates. Changes of financial corporate structure are described in Section 2. Section 3 provides details about regulatory framework for financial conglomerates.
