Japanese asset management companies suffer from low profitability compared with European and American asset management companies for many years. The reason why low profitability of Japanese asset management companies compared with European and American asset management companies, is that lower fee rate and smaller operation size. For improvement of profitability, improvement of performance is the most important subject. But we do not treat a subject about improvement of performance in this paper. From a point of view of asset management efficiency, we evaluate Japanese asset management companies by Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). From this result, we think we can do some proposal for improvement of management efficiency of Japanese asset management companies.

Although IT integration is seriously focused as a critical success factor for merger or reorganization of enterprises, the ultimate objective is transforming the existing system environments into new one where the targeted business model after merger or reorganization will be effectively supported. It does not simply require unification of existing applications, but re-engineering of system architecture to align all the applications consistent with the newly established business vision. This article is briefly describing the component based approach as a relevant methodology.

An attribute (factor) and the design of the level are very important in the virtual experiment by using virtual product. However, usual approach restrains the number of attributes in consideration not to increase the panel burden. It is influenced by four points, the number of attributes and the number of levels, the number of products plan (profile cards), measurement scale (answer form), and the way of constructing products plan and the way of carrying it out. This paper discusses the approach to increase the quality and quantity of information by increasing the number of attribute.

This paper examines how word-of-mouth effect works in informal networks among consumers, by using agent-based simulation. Existing studies about consumer behaviors are focused on individual preference between products and adoption judgment but they are not mainly on the structure of word-of-mouth networks among consumers. This paper adopts the methodology of computer simulation and analyzes the relation between consumer grouping and the diffusion power of product information.

The framework is based on the assumption that the competitive advantage of business characterized by industrial modularization is fundamentally determined by what kind of industrial modules to hold.As a case of applying the framework, the paper analyzes and predicts the changes of competitive situation in the Internet service provider business (ISP). The practical validity of the framework is demonstrated through explaining the historical changes of the competitive situation and trying the prediction. As a result, the validity of the above hypothesis is also checked by the demonstration.

Up to this time, at that factory, it was introduced IS each department such as order, design, manufacture, etc. and kept up with the delivery date requirement of custom. But the latest, it could not follow to a short delivery date requirement, because delay of information flows at design and manufacture department became bottleneck. From that background, that factory rebuilt the isolated IS at each department, on purpose to reduce occurring idle time in the factory. In particular, the factory tried to integrate one network from each LAN which constructed different operating system (OS) such as office computer system, MS-Windows system and UNIX system.

We analyze the role of mediation to correct misperceptions in a two-player hypergame where a player mispercepts the other's subjective game and both can get more payoff if the misperception is dismissed. Two main findings obtained are as follows. First, if the players communicate each other directly (without using a mediator), the misperception won't be corrected. Second, if players communicate through a mediator, the misperception can be corrected. We also discuss their meaning and implications.

The home care agency business is defined as an intermediary for a client and the service firms in the public care insurance system in Japan. Service is intangible and simultaneous in production and consumption, while the right to consume service is distributed like tangible goods. Concerning this industry we have two perspectives of channel theory in marketing and service marketing theory. The agency manages each channel system and service product mix. We discuss the particular quality control over them. THE commerce area around a facility tends to be regional and localized. I submit some theoretical points and consideration and would research further about the present system mechanism on ground of this paper.

We examined the educational effects of the Agent Based Approach (ABA), which is attracting attentions as one of new research methods recently, in business administration education for practitioners. We found that the ABA not only offers effective learning and enlighten effects that traditional approaches, such as the lecture and the case method, provide, but enables students to experience the overall decision making processes vicariously. In addition, the ABA is effective in understanding existing theories in business administration fields. We concluded, therefore, that the ABA is a promising new teaching method in business administration education for practitioners where the primary interest lies in acquiring good decision making skills.

The most shortcoming of the AHP is the phenomenon of rank reversal. The ranking of alternatives determined by the AHP may be altered by addition of another alternative. The same phenomenon of rank reversal sometimes occur when irrelevant alternative are added or deleted. Unfortunately, the rank reversal occur when paired comparison matrix is entirely consistent. This report is that how the rank reversal occur when the copy alternative added to 2 alternatives or 3 alternatives in consistent condition. And we compare the conventional AHP method and the modified AHP method, which were introduced by Belton and Gear. The eigenvector are normalized which maximum eigenvector element is 1 in the modified AHP method.

In industrial society, the technology as the method to attain purposes is automating. Since the work which uses a tool decreased, the opportunity to acquire skills by training is declining. However, People with the skill by the hand or the skill which used the tool as a part of body have played the active role in the industrial world. The support for acquiring skills is one of the difficult problems. Therefore, vocational high school which is promoting technical education needs skill education, in order to contribute to society. In this paper, we consider the Bayesian approach for representation of a set of documents. In the field of representation of a set of documents, many previous models, such as the latent semantic analysis (LSA), the probabilistic latent semantic analysis (PLSA), the Semantic Aggregate Model (SAM), the Bayesian Latent Semantic Analysis (BLSA), and so on, were proposed. In this paper, we formulate the Bayes optimal solutions for estimation of parameters. From the simulation experiments, we can show the effectiveness of the proposal. Moreover, we apply the proposal to analyze the questionnaires with free forms.

In this paper, we discuss about a personnel system in the small companies based on the typology of the personnel function. Since it is adapted for the business environment which changes fluidly, a company arrange limited human resources suitably again. However, in small companies, it is difficult to perform systematic human resources management efficiently in respect of a company scale. For this reason, a personnel is caught from the function side, and it is necessary to build the most suitable personnel information system in the restriction for the small companies. Then, this research shows the typology of a personnel function first, and considers the state of the personnel information system for small companies.

In this paper, we propose a new method of quality control using traceability system based on RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology. This method consists of following procedures. A RFID chip is attached in all unfinished products before the first process. In middle processes, the inspected result is stored in the chip. The information stored in a tip is taken out after the last process. Quality is judged based on the information about all products. Nonconformity goods are eliminated based on the result of the judgment. If a supplier adopts this method, most nonconformity goods will not be shipped from the supplier. In this paper, we consider a possibility that a supplier will adopt this method.

In this paper, we consider that a supplier guarantees the quality of a supply chain. It is pointed out that a supplier cannot guarantee quality enough, If ISO 9001:2000 is applied to the supply chain. We propose using RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology to solve this problem.
