Abstract
With the development of the radio technology, RFID system is being introduced into shops. It improves shop operation; however, the captured data, how customers select goods, has not been used effectively. To make the most use of the data, we propose methodologies to understand complex customer tastes and show the value of the RFID system. In this study, we first discuss the value of RFID data in each step of the product deployment process by comparing RFID and POS data. Then, we propose a product portfolio of the sales and the customers' purchase behavior and develop a couple of hypotheses. By testing these hypotheses with the RFID and POS data captured in an RFID pilot experiment.
