Abstract

In japanese social networking service (SNS) market, mixi (mixi, Inc.) had sustained competitive advantage at the beginning. However, in recent years, competition services, such as GREE (Gree,Inc.) and Mobage (DeNA Co.,Ltd.) have been expanding influence. As a result, competition in the market is now heating up. This paper aims to consider the mechanism of interfirm competition from a dynamic viewpoint by looking on the pathway of the business development of major japanese SNS companies as a chain of an interaction with various actors, such as a competitor, a customer and environmental factors. In analysis of an interaction, its attention is paid to temporal change of an "intention" which the management of each company holds towards growth and innovation.
