Abstract
Due to the catastrophe that occurred at the Fukushima No. 1 Nuclear Power Plant as a result of the Great East Japan Earthquake of March 11, 2011, and the accompanying tsunami, the “myth of nuclear power safety" collapsed. By self-spellbind in the rhetoric of this myth, Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) could not to take effective measures to respond as a high reliability organization, and; meltdowns occurred.
In this presentation, via network analysis and discourse analysis of the television conferences that TEPCO has released to the public, considerations are made regarding what kind of discourse and actions were made on the cutting-edge of this collapse of the myth of safety.
