A study on the structured evaluation criterion map for adopting Open Source Software in consideration of the management resources

Abstract

Adopting Open Source Software (OSS) in software development process requires crucial decision making from the various aspects, including business, technology, intellectual property managements, which are not mutually independent but could have a complex set of relationships.
Our previous study had proposed the evaluation axes and elements in adopting OSS, and analyzed an appraisal order of those elements within each axis. This research has studied the structured evaluation criterion map that is to break down the relation of the evaluation axes in consideration of the management resources, and attempted to clarify the decision making criterion.
