Abstract
Recently, the “Kawaii" culture, including contents such as Japanese manga, anime, pop music, fashion, and characters, has drawn worldwide attention. The Japanese government has also promoted the Cool Japan Strategy which aims to disseminate attractiveness of Japan and to harness economic growth by the contents. However, the majority of the contents have been expanded by Japan enthusiasts overseas; Japanese people have not identified and publicized the culture. The previous studies have described only definition of the culture and necessity of dissemination of information about the culture. Therefore, we have surveyed the spread of the culture from the viewpoint of information science and clarified processes of the expansion and relationship among the information. The result will be helpful for development of the culture industry.
