Abstract
Based on a large number of accumulated data in steel works, JFE Steel has developed a quality design system and a quality control system using locally weighted regression model, a type of Just-In-Time modeling, and a quality and operation management system using multivariate statistical process control technology These systems can achieved significant effects on reduction of quality control errors and speedup of quality anomaly detection, and has been contributed to improve quality control significantly in commercial production processes. These systems has been used in various manufacturing processes and in various steel works in JFE Steel. To disseminate this technology in the company, innovations, such as in-house technical classes and development support tool are also discussed.
