This report based on a survey seeks to understand each party's skill, qualifications, and experience, as well as their awareness of the presence or lack of such attributes in the other party. I analyze the effects of the information obtained in the survey on the results and process of system development. The results of the analysis show that, while the experience and skill of the client is consistently insufficient, the contractors experience and skill are higher than in the past. The widening of this gap affects system development by impeding communication during the development process. It is therefore important to increase client-side skill and experience to ensure the smooth progression and obtain the full benefits of system development.

I will report the effect that work hours have on job satisfaction and subjective happiness based on a survey conducted among 10,000 respondents in the Tokyo Metropolitan area. The analysis results are as follows. The effect of job satisfaction on subjective happiness is relatively small while the satisfaction with the residence, satisfaction with family relations, etc. have large effects. The effect of work hours on job satisfaction is relatively small while the sense of security toward the work environment and the sense of self-growth have large effects. It is strongly suggested that the reforms on the way of work at corporations need to include initiatives such as increasing the understanding of the human relationship at workplace and the jobs themselves.

Airport terminal decision makers in recent years need to deal with unexpected and sudden congestion situations. The variety of congestion situations are caused by interactions between subsystems and heterogeneity of passengers. A simulation approach enables us to describe the interactions between facilities and passenger behavior in detail, so it suits to find various types of possible congestion situations observed in a real airport terminal. The simulation approach, however, cannot directly lead exact prediction that can be useful in practical management and operation for difficulties of modeling a complex airport terminal system and acquiring complete input data. In this presentation, we report Fukuoka airport project in which we built passenger flow simulation to manage airport terminal congestion.

This presentation introduces an approach of patent document analysis and an example applying the approach. The approach is constructed of text mining and two AI technology: PLSA and Bayesian Network. This study analyzes about 30,000 patent document data related to wind and air. Applying PLSA can reduce patent documents to dozens of topics, which is useful to understand the overviews simply. Data aggregation and visualization based on the topics enables to understand technical trends and analyze competitor's technical position leading to the strategy of alliance and competition. Modeling the relationships between usage and technology by Bayesian Network gives awareness of new usage of technology owned by companies.

Developing a highly accurate prediction model for decision making is an important issue for companies.
However, as objective variables are set according to real business requirements, their structure often becomes complicated.
As one method of improving accuracy in such cases, there is a framework of ensemble learning that uses multiple models.
In particular, the method of using the prediction value of the model of the first stage as input of the next model is called stacking.

In this research, we propose a new stacking model which has a simple structure first stage model and a complicated structure next stage model, and we introduce examples of modeling using actual data of the automobile industry.

Cyber security incident, such as data leak、system suspension, is one of the most significant risks to manage. Early detection and faster response to cyber security incidents are essential to limiting damages. In this article, we introduce a brief description of cyber-attack methods and how to respond as quickly as possible to incidents. For each company, taking all security measures by itself should be avoided, because investigation into non-core business increases. Instead, it is better to outsource some measures to providers. We introduce our cyber security service “NSSEINT" as an example of outsourcing services.

We provide cloud-based business card management services with the mission of "Creating a resource from everyday business encounters, and transforming the way of working". Until now, our database has about 400 million business cards data, which include not only the individual data of business persons, but also the histories of their encounters and connections in business. Using our huge data of business cards, we are trying to develop applications for supporting encounters in business such as detecting 'hub' person, recommending people who you meet your needs, measuring activity of interactions between companies, and so on.
In this session, we would like to introduce these applications and discuss how we can transform "the way of working".

When the digital technology penetrates universally, it affects the product architecture and the organizing logic of the enterprise, and also changes the information system and the form used by the enterprise. Therefore, IoT, AI, Big Data etc which are currently talked about must also be considered in line with such flow. As a new architecture, a layered modular architecture consisting of four layers of devices, networks, services, and contents is a hot topic. This also affects how enterprises organize innovation and provide services. I examine the direction and meaning of such change.

Designing the function of users in an information system as main players is the key factor of success of an system design. In Japan, however, although the requirements of users are researched, only the shallow problems dependent on the current system are solved. Therefore, many of the information systems have not been designed including the real activities of the users who are the main players in the system. It is thought that many social problems involving an information system have been caused by deviance of users induced under this situation. This report discusses the design method which was suitable for cultural environment based on case analysis of some social problems in Japan.

Conventional movies tended to be ended with appreciation, and dialogue on the spot was not supposed. Therefore, it was difficult for "formation of creativity" among viewers to be born. On the other hand, the movie "Mirai Shutter" planned and produced by the Non-Political Origaization Wup Film is a futuristic society where various actors appreciate subjectively interpreting solutions to social problems, ruminating against self-concepts, It is carried out. This creates "formation of creativity" of various actors, triggers awareness of the individual's strengths and the realization of collaboration and leads to behavioral change towards the future. In this research, we analyze the movie "Mirai Shutter" and describe the possibility of solving new social problems using interactive movies.

For the introduction of the My Number system, information system development with the national government has been advanced. Among others, budgetary allowances have been made for the maintenance in local governments by the government granting maintenance cost subsidies. While the budget amount of measures related to information and communication technology in the Japanese government is on a downward trend, a reasonable amount has been invested in order to introduce My Number system. In January 2017, concerning the maintenance cost subsidies related to the introduction of the My Number system, the Audit and Inspection Bureau reports temporary reports to the Diet and the Cabinet. In this research, by referring to the occasional report, we clarify challenges on procurement mainly concerning information system development in public institutions.

The world is trying to increase the level of information security by utilizing the blockchain technology that enables electronic data to be distributed securely and safely. The blockchain makes it difficult to counterfeit and transform by encrypting the translation of the transaction and sharing it with the participants of the transaction. Seoul City launched experiments to apply the blockchain technology to the administrative work. One is supporting services for young people and the other is for the trading system of used cars. From this case analysis, I will consider the changes after introducing the blockchain in Seoul City, the way public and private partnerships should be applied when introducing new technologies into administrative operations, and the roles of the public and private sectors.

Electronic payment is an important element of smart society; retail payment data is personal data describing an individual's budget and consumption tendencies. "Data portability" would empower individuals to collect, gather, and utilize their own financial data for their own ends. To examine smart society, this paper surveys electronic payment services in emerging countries. In the surveyed countries, mobile payments using short message service have been increasingly popularized during the 2000s due to fewer people having a bank account and problems with the accessibility to bank branches and ATMs, despite high demand for remittance. According to the World Bank Group et al. (2016), person-to-person and government-to-person transfers are prevalent in the emerging countries. Today, a new method, account-to-account transfer is also developing.

It is pointed out that remittances and loans to individuals by promoting FinTech will be replaced by FinTech companies' service, which are cheaper and more convenient, and it will become more difficult for existing financial institutions to earn by commission. However, city banks believe that not FinTech companies but city banks can promote FinTech. This research aims to analyze the evaluation of the stock market for the promotion of information technology such as FinTech and Cloud in the banking industry. By looking at the market valuation you can confirm the difference between the banking industry and the shareholders. For the analysis, we use the method of event study.

In outbound business such as retail finance, salesperson strongly influences customer's decision making, and it is considered that purchasing data may strongly reflects the features of salesperson rather than customer's features. In other words, in order to analyze customers from purchasing data, it is necessary to analyze sales personnel first.
Conventionally, in the feature analysis of "human" like this, techniques of performing clustering using feature quantities created from demographic information, summary information of actions, etc. have been carried out many times, however this method can be highly arbitrary. In this research, we are going to report an analysis of correlation among sales person features, customer characteristics, and sales results by analysis based on objective data such as distribution of salesperson's KPI.

For some of our clients, increasing the inquiries to their services and purchase activities is the main aim of advertising instead of raising product awareness. Amongst them, there are clients who actively use the Internet and others who don't. Investing on digital marketing provides opportunities for business growth for the latter that haven't yet been able to fully utilize the Internet. For the former, ROAS (Return on Advertising Spend) becomes more important.

One of the major challenges of using big data to predict stock prices is the prevention of overfitting. In this study, we observe how the overfitting problems of the stock price forecast model is mitigated by adopting the variance of a parameter with which the evaluation score is the best that was generated from the repetition of generation changes in the real-value GA. In any method of machine learning used in the research (deep learning, gradient boosting, SVM), the model accuracy was improved when variable selection by the variance of a parameter was added.

We clarified the following two points about model and contents, as project design, in crowdfunding by analyzing the data of the Japanese crowdfunding platform. Firstly, it is confirmed that projects of “All or Nothing" model were significantly more successful than projects of “All in" model. Secondly, it is confirmed that use of videos and pictures and text length were positively associated with success rate. It was suggested that there is the possibility that success factors in Japanese crowdfunding is changing because, according to the existing research, it cannot be said that these factors were positively associated with success rate.

In the policy discussion, one of the issues examined was the promotion of used smartphone distribution.
In this research, we conducted an empirical analysis using hedonic approach for purchase and sale data of used smartphone posted on EC site and Consumer-To-Consumer (C2C) EC site collected by Web scraping.
As a result, the following two points were suggested. Firstly, businesses highly evaluate scratches and dirty smartphones more than consumers, secondly, while operators highly appreciate smartphones with SIM-unlocked, consumers do not consider too much about it.

The platform strategy theory, on the other hand, is applicable to grow its business ecosystem, where manufacturing capability of products can not be sustainable source of competitive advantage. The scopes of respective theories are quite different, and then, both seem to be mutually independent. That is, it seems to be difficult for us to find real cases that support both theories. In this presentation, however, we show two cases that respective blend of the platform and competitive strategies. The blendings are logically sound and have strong inimitability.

There are increasing cases where IoT devices that have been inappropriately configured or vulnerable are exploited. It is important for public safety to improve the capability of security and prevent misuse of home appliances IoT. Meanwhile, some of Japanese governments have introduced ideas of certification system for such devices, however, it is open to question on the limitation of effect since the legal enforcement seems not to be enough. Moreover, it has been pointed out in the related research that long-term guarantee (security correspondence) is difficult in the case of the usual selling out model. In order to make resolution, this research aims to propose a business model that provides rental of home appliances IoT as a managed service.

The amount of broadband traffic such as high-quality video is on the rise, and according to the survey by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications in May 2017, it increased more than 30% over the previous year. However, since the flat rate system is the mainstream for user charges, an increase in traffic does not lead to an increase in revenue. Previously, user expansion has been investing in capital investment, but as the market approaches saturation, maintaining investment is getting harder. Consequently, network congestion is a concern, and the effective speed at the time of congestion is drawing attention. Although since broadband is a complex system, it is difficult to define the effective speed and it is even more difficult to measure it.

With the high of information and communication technology, the world e-commerce market size tends to be larger in the future. In this situation, we considered expanding the business to the ASEAN to be attractive strategy because this region is remarkable in the Business-to-Consumer market. Although it is necessary to understand both the macro environment such as economy and culture and the actual behavior of e-commerce user, the study which has integrated the country levels and the individual levels and has analyzed them is little. Therefore, we gained the important knowledge by analyzing actual condition of e-commerce user based on the survey of macro environment in the target country.

The purpose of this study is to clarify the characteristics of IoT application cases by industries from the viewpoint of aggressive or defensive IoT application. We searched for articles of IoT application cases published in the Nikkei Shimbun from January 2015 to June 2017 and obtained 122 valid cases in six major industries. We classified the cases into either aggressive or defensive ones. The result showed that there were differences in the number of cases and in the ratio of the number of aggressive cases by industries. We conducted a co-occurrence network analysis and found that there were many cases aimed at improving production efficiency in the Monozukuri industry, whereas in the Kotozukuri industry, there were many cases aimed at providing services to companies using IoT.

The value of knowledge sharing in a supply chain (SC) is widely accepted in its conceptual sense; however, the lack of concrete evidence has been pointed out. To clarify what and how knowledge is shared in SCs, we organized several SC game workshops by using a self-developed gaming platform. Many participants, including SC management experts, participated in the workshops. Through these workshops, we gained insights into the SC strategic patterns and characteristic trends in SC performance. We constructed some distinctive models of SC strategies using system dynamics based on these insights and analyzed the performance of SCs using the collected gaming data.

In this research, we classify information that consumers use when they purchase goods into enterprise information and consumer-generated information and verify their influence on purchasing behavior. We aim to construct a purchasing behavior model in which the difference between the two types of information is considered, so that we can estimate their influence on purchasing behavior. Based on the model, we examine whether companies should focus on corporate information or consumer-generated information. We employ SOARS to construct a luxury goods purchase model and a daily necessities replacement model. We set five levels of evaluation for consumer-generated information and verify the influence of each type of information based on the number of purchases.

For last a few decades, business performance of department stores had been worse as compared with shopping malls or convenience stores, while there is not a little difference of business performance among each company in department store industry. In this article, we develop a dynamic model which can explain the impacts of department store company's management policies such as (1) outsourcing the purchasing and selling operation (i.e. tenant), (2) targeting the specific customer segment and pricing; on business performance. We develop a system dynamics model which consists of department store model and market model. Moreover, we validate the developed model by comparing the simulation results with trends of actual department stores' business performance.
