Abstract
Medical Staff in disaster medicine has important role of quality of life and lives for disaster victims. They also suffer from physical and mental burden in disaster damage of long-team and wide area. Important issue is medical staff who should lighten the work load in disaster area. The aim of this study is to examine a motivation and factors affecting to join the disaster relief activities. The authors distributed self-administered questionnaires to 156 nurses, and 152 of them responded, 88.8% of them wanted to participate in disaster relief activities with some conditions. Participation was difficult without receiving an order from their superior. Most nurses who participated in the disaster relief activities were on occupational duty. Our findings of this study clarified that information and knowledge for participating the disaster relief activities. Construction of the system is needed for nurses with highly motivation to participate disaster relief activities more easily.
