Minnesota Classification of Aphasia: A mean value of 0-1 scores of 44 cases classified as Group 1, 2 or Minor B was significantly lower than that of 28 cases of Group 3, 4 or Minor Cases of Group 5, irreversible aphasic syndrome had the highest mean value of 0-1 score. Follow up study: Changes of the 0-1 score were more sensitive and acceptable than another global evaluation of aphasia. This study also revealed that all of the cases of excellent or good prognosis had scores below 0.190, on the other hand, all of the cases scored more than 0.700 had deteriorated in follow up period. From these results, 0-1 score appears to be a good method to evaluate severity of aphasia covering almost all essential signs and symptoms of aphasia and sensitive enough detect minor changes of aphasic distrubance.
