Abstract

A 68-year-old woman with polycythemia vera presented to the emergency department complaining of acute onset pain, sensory and motility disturbance in the both legs. Enhanced computed tomography revealed the occlusion of bilateral common femoral arteries and lower limb arteries. She was transferred to our hospital and underwent an emergent operation. Bilateral thrombectomy using X-ray image and bilateral fasciotomies were performed. Postreperfusion injury was successfully controlled with temporary hemodialysis, and she fully recovered at discharge. Bilateral acute limb ischemia in patients with polycythemia vera is rare, but occasionally lethal without an appropriate treatment.
