This paper proposes the adaptation of a secondary coil to a transverse magnetic motor with a multi-stage stator. The problems of conventional transverse magnetic motors are cogging torque and torque reduction in the high-speed rotation range. This paper aims to solve the problem of torque reduction by using a stator and secondary coil with an improved conventional structure. 3-dimensional finite element method (3DFEM) analysis and verification using an actual motor were conducted. The results show that the torque can be improved by 2% at rotational speeds above 3000 min-1.
