There are two issues: the problem of marine plastic waste, which has become a global environmental issue, and the domestic production of activated carbon for electrodes as well as the development of storage batteries. In this study, magnesium air fuel cell (MAFC) was fabricated using marine plastic waste, mainly PET bottles. The maximum power density per reaction area of the MAFC was evaluated by measuring the current and voltage when a 40 kΩ to 1 Ω resistor was connected to the MAFC. As a result, the highest maximum power density was found to be 7.18 mW/cm2.
