The purpose of this study is to investigate the use of various carbon materials for use in negative electrodes. The addition of carbon to NAM is known to be effective in suppressing sulfation and is a cause of the degradation of lead-acid batteries. Adding carbon may increase the electrode’s specific surface area and the electrochemical reaction area. A half-cell was prepared using a negative electrode including carbon. It was evaluated for capacity and active material utilization. The capacity, active material utilization, and specific surface were compared.
