Activated carbon is crucial for enhancing electric double-layer capacitors (EDLC). While pore structure control is effective, breakthroughs require addressing surface functional groups. Research has shown acidic groups improve performance, but basic groups are less studied. This study evaluates specific capacitance, internal resistance, energy density, and power density of electrodes using basic activated carbon. As the result, that basic functional groups show impact these metrics, highlighting the importance of surface chemistry alongside pore structure for optimizing EDLC performance.
