Red-emissive Mn-doped Li2Ge4O9 phase synthesized via glass-ceramic route

We synthesized the lithium-tetragermanate (Li2Ge4O9) phase doped with Mn4+ by glass-ceramics technique using the stoichiometric glass-precursor with different MnO2 concentrations, i.e., 20Li2O–80GeO2xMnO2 (x = 0.1–0.7), and examined their photoluminescent property. The doped phase showed clear red-emission at room temperature, and the internal quantum-yield was found to be approximately 40% in the samples with x = 0.1–0.3.
