Ultrafiltration for bovine serum albumin protein by all alumina porous membranes

In this study, three types of Al₂O₃ powders were used as raw materials to fabricate and evaluate the performance of all-alumina multi-layer filters, and an attempt was made to fabricate an ultrafiltration filter that separates and removes proteins. When bovine serum albumin (BSA, molecular weight 66,000) was used as the protein, a very high rejection rate of 91.9 % was obtained even under mild conditions with a differential pressure of 1 atm or less.
