Current State of Non-regular Employment and Transition to Regular Employment Based on Panel Data

Abstract

This report used panel data to verify the factors underlying the transition from non-regular to regular employment. It concluded that participation in the Employment Insurance and the Educational Training Benefit Scheme promotes the transition. Additionally, for men, the transition to regular employment is faster in health-, social insurance-, and security-related sectors. Moreover, non-regular employees without fixed-term employment contracts transition more easily.
