This study empirically analyzes the determinants of people's willingness to donate to initiatives to preserve regional resources. The main findings of this study are as follows. The willingness to donate is influenced by people's normative consciousness, which includes elements of social capital, such as trust and reciprocity. Furthermore, people's attachment to their place of residence has only a limited impact on their willingness to donate, even though it has a bearing on their willingness to participate in efforts to preserve regional resources or community activities.
