This paper examines the validity of Neal [1999]'s two-step job search model, in which workers first search for a suitable career match and then search for a good employer match without changing careers. The results of the empirical analysis using Japanese data show that even in Japan, where the labor market is less flexible, and the job market is underdeveloped, the "two-step job search" is generally established at an early stage of the career. This result suggests that even in Japan, workers choose the suitable job through changing jobs.

This study empirically analyzes the determinants of people's willingness to donate to initiatives to preserve regional resources. The main findings of this study are as follows. The willingness to donate is influenced by people's normative consciousness, which includes elements of social capital, such as trust and reciprocity. Furthermore, people's attachment to their place of residence has only a limited impact on their willingness to donate, even though it has a bearing on their willingness to participate in efforts to preserve regional resources or community activities.

To investigate the industrial recovery of the Miyagi Prefecture after the Great East Japan Earthquake, we created an interregional Input–Output Table for three periods: (1) before the earthquake, (2) immediately after the earthquake, and (3) two years after the earthquake. In this study, we focused on supply chains, which have a significant impact on industrial recovery. We used APL functions for interactive analysis, including visualization tools.
The results showed that some of the industrial economy in the affected areas returned to the pre-earthquake transaction structure at an early stage.

In this study, we evaluate agricultural public investment projects from the 1990s to the 2010s, focusing on the development of policy and budgetary measures. In the 1990s, the scope of the agricultural policy was expanded to food, agriculture and development of rural areas. In the 2000s, the policy for rural areas was developed steadily. In the 2010s, when the regime changed twice, rural development projects were reduced in relation to the expansion of agricultural public investment projects, followed by agricultural public investment projects inclined from projects for basic infrastructure to projects for strengthening competitiveness.
