In order to clarify the effects of modification element on oxide formation while rotary degassing using nitrogen in AC4C alloy melt, K-mold method and X-ray diffraction were carried out. The findings were as follows. 1) Rotary degassing using nitrogen increases the oxide number in molten aluminium. 2) Oxide is not found in the molten aluminium during separation and surfacing when modified with sodium. 3) Oxide increases exponentially in the molten aluminium when modified with strontium. 4) Oxide is not found in the molten aluminium when modified with strontium and sodium.
